HOW DOES BLUECOAT DETERMINE PUPPY'S PRICE?
We understand that our clients are curious about our pricing, and we're happy to provide you with all the information you need. Our prices are determined based on a combination of color, conformation, and DNA, and we announce them when our puppies reach 4 weeks of age. At this point, we also begin our clients' selection process. If none of the puppies listed for the current litter meets your preference, you'll have the pick of a puppy in the next available litter. All of our puppies are AKC registered. Limited AKC registration requires spay/neuter by the new owner. Full AKC registration with breeding rights is available upon request for an additional cost.
HOW MUCH IS MY BALANCE AFTER RESERVATION DEPOSIT?
We appreciate your business and want to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for you. After receiving your non-refundable reservation deposit, we kindly request that you settle the remaining balance, which may include additional service fees such as airline fare, microchipping, etc., prior to delivery. This helps us ensure that everything is taken care of and that you receive your new puppy without any issues.
DO YOU OFFER BREEDING RIGHTS?
Yes. We are proud of our breeding program bloodlines. Our mission is to improve and enhance the blue bloodline quality. We select French Bulldogs puppies with unique DNA genes to produce unique and amazing colors for our program. In order to receive breeding rights, we may require an interview. WE PROVIDE PET PRICE, UNLESS ASK. If you are inquiring about our breeding rights (FULL AKC), please let us know you are requesting breeding rights. There is an addition cost...call for pricing.
AS A BREEDER; MAY I REQUEST FULL REGISTRATION DNA TESTING RESULTS
We're happy to provide DNA test results upon request, which are necessary for breeding rights. We conduct our BlueCoat Genetic testing when our puppies reach 3 weeks of age. Our DNA testing is performed by the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory, a trusted provider in the industry. Please note that there is a $100 service charge for test results.
WHY DO FRENCH BULLDOGS COST SO MUCH?
Breeding French Bulldogs for rare colors such as purplish/lilac, chocolates, and blue is a complex and challenging process that requires expertise and a significant investment of time and resources. Frenchies are not easy to breed naturally due to their narrow hips, and females are often artificially inseminated. Reputable breeders must ensure that the breeding process is successful, which requires multiple visits to the veterinarian and can be costly.
Additionally, Frenchies tend to have relatively small litters, with an average of only four live births, and deliveries can be complicated due to their larger-than-average heads. As a result, most Frenchies are delivered by C-section, which is also a costly procedure. Responsible breeders must provide around-the-clock care for the mother and newborn puppies for the first several days, including monitoring feedings every 2-3 hours to ensure proper nutrition. Puppies should not be left alone with the mother, as there is a risk of accidental smothering.
In addition to these challenges, breeding Frenchies also requires significant ongoing expenses such as veterinary bills, medicines, food, toys, play areas, and shelters. When all of these factors are taken into account, breeding Frenchies for rare colors is a time-consuming and expensive endeavor. Reputable breeders understand the importance of ensuring the health and well-being of their dogs and are committed to providing the highest level of care and attention to their breeding program.
